GH3 Wifi controls disabled during video recording

I was excited to try out the wifi capabilities of the gh3, thinking of using my ipad to control focus and aperture while the camera sits on a steadicam.
I was so disappointed when I found out that once you press the record button the other controls on the lumix app are grayed out and do not work anymore. You cannot even stop the camera via ipad which seems absurd to me. What's the purpose of having remote connectivity thus?

Am I missing something within the menu? I hope so...
Any idea is appreciated.

Yes please! And also, please give us a full screen function!
It seems that there is a button for it, but you can't press it ... I mean that rectangle shaped button in the top... Maybe they will update it later/
