Though you can't really tell in this upload, on the actual camera you can see some wild blinking. It's been a while since I've used this camera, and I don't know what's causing it. It seems to stop once I film in 60FPS, but in 24 and 30FPS it does some weird blinking. You'll notice it more on the phone that I got footage of.

Any diagnostics?

Possably, though I've filmed in the kitchen before and it's never done that. I've also tried it in other rooms and it also did that. I'll have to wait to try it in the morning obviously, but I'll keep this topic updated once I do.

Did you use autofocus?

If your problem is same as mine.... what happens is that the autofocus cannot focus properly. It keeps jumping between say AF50 and AF51.... so there is blinking...

Try turning off autofocus.... if u have it on.

I no longer have this problem with my new hpx170 although i also dun use autofocusing anymore.

Thanks for the advice guys. The shutter is turned off, and it was definitely the autofocus! This is weird, because my autofocus has normally never given me a problem. Oh well, looks like I'll have to adjust to not using the autofocus anymore.

yes on my dvx autofocus tends to "shiver" trying to hunt for focus in 24p mode. scared me when i first got it. but i dont use autofocus at all...so i dont care.

i have used 3 dvx102 from dvx102, dvx102a and dvx102b... only the dvx102b has this problem.

hpx172 which I am using now doesn't have a problem with autofocus breathing...
