I would like to just put it out there that if you ever thought about buying a Wieldy related product, don't. I bought one of their Glidecam / Steadicam knock off. Of course after a week of usage the knob for their quick release plate broke and is permanently in the locked position. I patiently dealt went back and forth with them about this over Skype on and off for over a month. Dealing with and the distributor Linkdelight has been a nightmare and complete waste of money to say the least.

I always feared this would happen dealing with the cheap Chinese stuff off of eBay.

I'm not going to knock your experience. But mine was a little bit different. I bought a Wieldy CF slider, used it a little. Worked OK but a little wobbly for the lenses I was putting up (It was no worse and much quieter than the Cinevate one I had rented before). I rented it a couple times to a friend of mine, and he liked it, but on the third rental he broke one of the plastic tighteners. I told him don't worry about it, but he did anyway. So HE wrote to Wieldy under his name but on my behalf, using my original receipt, and they sent him the replacement parts (actually 2) for the cost of shipping.

I will admit it is cheap stuff, but I was impressed with their service. I was thinking about buying their stabilizer based on this experience . Whicj one did you buy? What knob broke?

I will ask my buddy if he has a contact name/number he can share with you.

Which one is it? I have the Wieldy vest and stabilizer I bought in Jan 2013 - it's the one that was featured on cheesycam on 12/10/2012. If that's the one, which knob are you talking about? Perhaps it's a different model, because on mine there are 4 screws (which isn't very convenient, frankly, so I use a Manfrotto QR on top and leave the Wieldy plate on permanently on the stage).
