Widescreen look

Alright time for a dumb question, I shot on widescreen uploded to Adobe on a widescreen project, then export to tape and viewed on a TV to see that it is still full screen. Why did that happend? Should I pull it in after effect and like squeeze it and make widescreen matte or something. Thanks for the help guys.

the DVX100 and 100a don't play widescreen footage on a TV unless the TV is widescreen. I believe it was fixed with the 100b. Your film is still in widescreen, it just won't display that way through the camera. Burn it to a DVD and it will squeeze it properly.
