Wide Lenses for the AF100...

Hello all! :) I want it wide and fast!!!

My lenses for my af100 so far are the lovely voigtlander 25mm f0.95, and the rather sheepish lumix 14-140 F4-6.8.

I'm looking to get into estate agency house tour videos (panning round a room and shoving it on a website for ppl to view etc)

Im after a decent wide angle lens to perform that,...problem with the lumix range is there's nothing under F4...so indoor stuff is a real bummer!...

I have about 6-700 quid to splash on the lens/appropriate adapter, if anyone can give me advice on a super-wide lens that's nice and open?..that would be great :)

Ditto the Oly 12/2, stick it on autofocus and life will be easy.

Don't be afraid to light the house for your walkthroughs, by the way.

We have quite a bit of experience of filming property & have learned that while it would be nice to think that you can just use ambient light it just ain't so. Without proper lighting the rooms will look flat & drab. If the day is bright & the house is light & airy it can be OK as in this example http://vimeo.com/31017419 which is mostly filmed with the Panasonic GH2 & 7-14mm F/4 which is superb for interiors (mostly used at 7mm). It's almost all hand held too as the very wide angle lets you get away with it (plus a touch of stabilisation in post). It's shot 1280x720p 50fps too although I don't think that there is actually any slo-mo used in this example it is useful to have the option of slowing down the panning if necessary. All camera work is by me & editing is by my wife Alice who also wrote up blog post on the behind the scenes on this shoot. http://www.alicebarker.net/2011/09/664/

We started filming properties using Canon XH-A1s & then moved to the Canon 5D MkII but using the GH2 hand held with the 7-14mm instead of lugging around a tripod has been a revelation. I really cannot imagine using my AF101 for this sort of work as setup would be far too time consuming.

Also using the Duclos/Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 zoom.
At 11mm you are getting roughly a 16mm equivalent with a S35mm cam.

For really wide stuff that 7mm would be hard to beat though.

With the right scene settings, you can really kick up the gain and things will remain noiseless and clear. Add some lights on top of that (even just a few inexpensive clip-on fluoro fixtures) Working at smaller aperture will also ensure deep focus.

I'm shooting with the 14-140 and 7-14 much more these days, often at about 5.6-8 and usually with just a little light. Maybe there's a little noise introduced, but its offset by the sharpness gain vs. other fast zooms being soft wide open.

The 7-14, in this way, is ideal... Just feed it a little light when it needs

I like both the 7-14 and the tokina 11-16. I believe the SLR magic 12mm 1.6 will fit in nicely as well.

im just scared because my 14-140 indoors is not very nice, even wide at 4.0,...and i probably havnt found the best settings for indoor low light on my AF100,..cant seem to get nice and subtle gain boost..

+1 on Tokina 11-16. Very sharp and clear, fast at 2.8, and it has a cinematic look. On M4/3, 11mm has the same AOV as 13mm on a Cine35 camera.
