Wide Angle Lenses for DVX100

I'm looking to purchase a wide-angle lens for my old DVX100 (the original), but not entirely sure what it all means.

What is the difference between a .7 and .8x wide angle lens? The prices vary dramatically (some on ebay as low as $59, B&H goes to almost $400). Clearly the glass will make a difference in the lens price, but not sure what the optics all mean.

Any advice would be nice!

.7 will give you a 30% bigger field of view, a .8 will give you 20% bigger. I would recommend century optics, you get what you pay for with these adaptors, the .6 is a nice piece of glass, not total zoom through but if you're wanting wide angle you're not likely to want to zoom in too much

so basically the smaller the number, the higher the range of the field? is that always correct? 'cause I see some .45 lenses but physically they look much smaller than their larger numbered cousins.
