Wide angle lens with squeeze not wide?

I was trying squeeze for the first time last weekend and using a 0.6x Century wide angle lens on it. I noticed the lens is not nearly as wide shooting squeeze as opposed to 4:3. It actually seems like its almost virtually doing nothing. Anyone know why this is the case or how to best utilize a wide angle lens using squeeze?? Also, I've been trying to get some good compression settings for exporting the 16x9 video and having trouble finding something I like. Shooting 30p if it matters. I keep ending up with stretched looking videos. Thanks for any help!

thats strange. it didnt really seem like it was making anything very wide at all. as per the second question, im having trouble figuring out what compression settings to be using exporting out of fcp. when shooting in 4:3 i was very pleased with the results using the lan/intranet default. anything similar to that that will export in 16x9? so far ive gotten a 4:3 video to export that was letterboxed to 16:9 and a 16:9 video that had letterboxing on the left and right sides. what should i be using to just get a nice compressed, no letterboxing, 16x9 video??

Yoooo SnowPerception represent! Hahah.

Anyways here's what you should try.

Capture in FCP as Anamorfic 16x9 Widescreen.

Edit in 16x9 Widescreen.

Export in Widescreen.

For Vimeo HD export as 1280x720 HD.
