Wide Angle Lens from XL1

Hello, a friend has a Century Optics wide angle Lens (.6) from an XL1.  
He is considering mailing it to me for my trial/use.

Anyone know if the thread size (72mm) is the same for these two cameras?  Is this lens by Century Optics interchangeable without a step up ring?

While both camera's accept 72mm filters, the Century adapters attach via the bayonets on the front of the lens that are used to attach the sunshade.

Therefore the .6X for the XL1 cannot be used on the DVX100/100A without having the lockring replaced and the locking mechanism adjusted to lock properly on the Panasonic camera.

The cost of making the modification would be approx $100 parts and labor and take a few days.
