Wide Angle Adapter and Low Light

I am about to shoot an indoor wedding reception (so I'm already concerned about low light conditions).

If I put a wide-angle adapter on the HMC40 will I lose a couple more stops of light?

I don't believe there should be any major light loss from a wide angle adapter.

Nothing is 100% perfect, so there would be a tiny, as in fractional, light loss, but nothing to worry about.

I have the Panasonic .7x WA adapter and have used it on a couple of shoots. Anectdotal evidence suggests the light loss is minimal.

FWIW, I also used a Pearstone .7x for one project because the Panasonic WA adapter was out of stock and I needed wider coverage: the Pearstone degrades sharpness significantly where the Panasonic adapter is tack sharp through most - if not all - of the zoom range.

if anything, you may not have light loss, but light gain, since you are increasing the aperture and thus increasing the light gathering. It won't be a lot since you are going from 43mm to ~62mm, perhaps only a magnitude difference in low magnitude (I calculated roughly 10.8 to 11.8 difference), which won't make any measurable difference in daylight shots.
