Why?

This isn't a complaint, just a question - well, maybe it is a complaint. Why does the AF100 allow you to custom name scene files when the name doesn't appear anywhere for reference?

In my case I've set up some files to match lenses. My Leicas look different from each other, and way different than the Zuikos. But relying on memory to find the correct scene file is chancy when working fast. I've taped a 3x5 card to my lens case, but still...

Also, I asked once what people store their SD cards in... Since then I bought a bunch of Panasonic cards - they come in nice little plastic boxes. I've made a little permanent storage case for them out of a cigar box. It would be nice if all cards came in identical cases like tapes.

What? F3 isn't descriptive enough? I would also like some "notes" capability on the scene files because there aren't
a lot of characters for the names and I wind up making some pretty cryptic names up ... and then forgetting what they
were about :-)

thanks for that link ... i've been looking for a case that's durable .. that
looks like the ticket.

s for SD card case: Pelican makes a neat and affordable multi case

Yeah, I've got two of those for my traveling case... But for storage I like the individual little boxes. You can stick a label to them for contents, and if you're looking for an archived shoot it's very convenient (or will be, I assume, I haven't done it yet(.

the scene files that you assigned

Not to beat a dead horse, but what about the scene file you're looking for? Remember, I prefaced this with "when working fast". It seems simple enough, but admittedly minor for most people.

Seems there is a firmware bug where the Gamma names displayed on the LCD/EVF do not match what was saved in the Scene file.

I see this regularly on multiple AF100. Even when setup identically the various AF100's will display different Gamma names on their EVF/LCD. The footage matches fine, it's just the naming that's off.

I pointed that out to them in the prerelease version, I really expected them to fix it, but they didn't.

The name will appear after you've loaded the scene file, in the upper right corner, if you have "other display" set to ALL. But only in that scenario. I told them that it really needed to be displayed when selecting the scene file (i.e., instead of saying "F1" to "F6" it should say the name of the scene file) but they didn't do it. Annoying.

That's not a bug. That's the "name" of the scene file. The preprogrammed scene files for F5 and F6 are named "CINE V" and "CINE D". When you see that name on the screen, it's the "name" of the scene file, not a reflection of what the gamma is. For example, the "name" of F3 is "spark", and there's no gamma called spark...

That's exactly what I've been seeing. Good to know it's not a bug.

Thanks once again Barry!
