Why use a steadicam for the 5d?

Im trying to figure out if its worth me buying a glidecam. You cant go handheld with the 5d in a wide angle so why would it be better with a steadicam? Could it only be used with a 50mm and above with a subject in the foreground?

I would do a search perhaps on vimeo or youtube to see many clips of people using the 5D Mark II with Glidecams and Steadicams successfully.

That said, most people go wide on handheld stabilizers due to the effect it produces and the ability to keep the subject in focus. However, you can do 100-200mm if you have a reason to. Just really need to make sure the rig is balanced properly.

Ive watched many of them i don't understand why i don't see any moire in those videos? Maybe my camera is faulty. I have it a little over a week now.

Most of my footage comes out looking like this guys stuff especially when its a wide angle. http://vimeo.com/2738955
Is this normal? I could bring it back to B&h and exchange it for a new one. I only have it a week. I just don't know whats exceptable on this camera. Any help please id hate to think i have a dud.
