Why not DVX?

Re: Why not DVX?

Maybe Canon slipped them some money to pimp their goods. If that's the case, why not the XL2?

Re: Why not DVX?

Yeah, that and the canon's size makes it seem very pro.

I was on a shoot and the client called in another guy to shoot besides me. The other dude brought a huge ass beta cam. and I brought my DVX.

Guess which camera we used. the Beta. Even thought the client "wanted it to look like a movie" which the DVx excels at. Woe is me.

Re: Why not DVX?

Canon and Apple are in cahoots. If you've ever been to an Apple store you know they always have Canons on display/for sale as accessories..

Re: Why not DVX?

same arguement could apply the other way too..."why not XL1s", if indeed they did choose a DVX. Maybe the XL1s just suits their needs better.

Re: Why not DVX?

Okay, let me rephrase the question:

What does XL1s (or XL2) have that DVX doesn't that would be a reason for someone to base a decision on when getting a camera for live video streaming?

Nothing.

Re: Why not DVX?

also, it took apple FOR EVER to announce official support for a lot of different cameras in final cut.

Me thinks it's simply lazyness.
