Why no Safe Zones for DVX100A?

Hi. This may be a dumb question, but I assumed that with a $3000 camera like the DVX100A there would be a setting to display broadcasting Safe Zones in the view finder and LCD. Premiere Pro provides that when you want to create a title or other lettering for your footage.
I'd think it would be a good thing to have when shooting, or is that better shown on a field monitor? Any pros out there to clue me in?
Thanks - CraigT

The action safe area is built into the viewfinder and LCD monitor. What you are seeing is the overscanned version of what you are shooting. There is actually more being recorded around all 4 edges than you see. So basically what you are seeing represents the safe action area of an average TV.

Use a field monitor capable of underscanning if you want to see the entire picture.

Yeah, I don't know of a camera under $4000 that displays the full frame, with action-safe zones overlaid. I don't think any sub-$5000 cameras can even display the full frame, they're all overscanned to action-safe.

An external monitor can show underscan, but most externals don't have an overlay for action-safe. You can get that feature if you use DV Rack.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just figured that somebody would have to have considered safe zones if editing software always does. Thanks again - CraigT
