Why no remote focus controls for DVX?

I've been looking for a remote zoom/focus device for the DVX with no success. I currently use a Varizoom remote for zoom, which is great, but I can't find one for the DVX that will also control focus. Can anyone shed any light on this? I often work with the camera off the tripod and like to adjust focus for DOF shots. I run into the typical shake problems when trying to do that while not having a steady base for the camera.
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

so, is it technically not possible, even with a physical/electrical hack to the 100A, I would think it's at least "possible" given it has some mechanism for auto-focus, but perhaps that's not the same?

In the three years the DVX has been out, nobody's ever come up with anything. I mean, it could be possible in the same way that the reel-stream Andromeda is possible, but that doesn't mean it's practical.

At one point Varizoom was showing a mockup of a focus control for the DVX, which was a physical motor that spun the focus gear. It was noisy, so I don't think development ever went beyond the prototype stage...

Thanks Barry, as you know it's just a wee bit depressing when I come across those units that do Zoom and Focus, but for the DVX it's only zoom.

I presume if I get an HVX this won't be a problem, key word being: "if" ;-)

Now that's a wonderful vision, my (not yet owned) HVX up on a crane, with me comfortably down below looking through my (not yet owned) JVC TM-H150CG and adjusting focus AND exposure!

The DVX100B and the HVX both have remote-focus connectors. AND remote iris, too, so you can control exposure remotely!

What hardware would do this Barry....does Pany have a device?

Varizoom is building one, and Panasonic has it listed on their website under "accessories". I don't think Panasonic themselves has ever offered their own remote controllers, they rely on Varizoom and Zoe and companies like that to build them.
