Why no m4/3 to EOS adapter available?

Just picked up a used Voigtlander 25mm .95 and boy is it something! I love this lens. I've heard that the reason there is no m4/3 to EOS adapter has to do with flange distance but I'm not sure exactly what that means.

Is there absolutely no way I'll ever be able to use this on my 60D?

If so, what a shame...

The flange to sensor distance for the m4/3 (19.25mm) would put the lens mount about a half inch inside or behind the 60d lens mount(44mm). Won't work without a correction lens built into the adapter.

Yes, there's no way it could ever work.

There is a gnat's chance an adapter could be made to work with the new EOS-M mount but even then, the lens wouldn't work with the larger sensor the EOS-mount cameras use.

So enjoy it on your GH2, AF100, future GH3 etc, but don't plan on using it on any other type of camera system.

A response from the AF100 king himself. I'm honored.

Ok, well that's a bummer. It's a fantastic lens. I hope to see a GH3 or AF100 successor soon!
