Why must I enter the serial every time I open FCP?

FCP froze the first time I ran it, and now it asks for my name and serial everytime I start the program up. Is there something to fix this? Is this common? Compressor also does the same thing, it's damn annoying!
 
A dialog box asking you to register will come up every time you run one of the FCS apps until you do register. Are you sure this is not what you are seeing? Since you are asked to enter your serial number when you install FCS, I doubt that a later crash of FCP would cause a problem like this, unless the file storing your serial number information was somehow corrupted. You could try uninstalling FCS using a utility like FCS Remover and then reinstalling from the original installation disks. If that fails, a call to Apple should solve the problem.

Look for the FINAL CUT STUDIO SYSTEM ID in your hard drive>library>Application Support>ProApps

Drag it out of the folder into the trash and relaunch.

Enter the serial number one last time and it should work
