HPX250: why is the image jumping/flickering? need help ASAP

Hi guys, so after hours of hours of testing i just realised something that i didnt notice.. is there something wrong or is this normal?

Im all the way at z03.9mm (wide) and i have on MF ASSIST.

Usually i zoom in all the way and get focus and go back out etc but lets say if im at z03.9mm (wide) and i try to focus and i move my hands away the MF assist basically goes crazy and basically makes my video footage stuttery (you can see the light flickering etc) this surely cant be right can it? can someone confirm this for me?

please see footage, i have to shoot 2morow, my first job and im kind of nervous... is this a normal function of MF assist? look at the footage at the corner of the window on the left and right you can see it jumping.. looks even worse on my lcd on my camera.

in the footage everythings manual off course i pulled it focus in the start of video then frm then on in it starts flickering like mad.. i opened the iris up just to demonstrate as well..

No, there's nothing normal about that!

Turn MF ASSIST off and see if it makes a difference. MF ASSIST actually does engage a little bit of autofocus and that seems like it might be associated with the issue, but I haven't seen that before and it certainly shouldn't be doing that!
 
hey barry yes when i disable mf assist it doesnt do that.. but it'd be nice to have that enabled as the style of documentary im doing i werent be able to zoom in all the way to get focus.. kinda annoyed.. ill probably have to bring it in see what they say :/
 
At first I thought it was something to do with shutter speed, it's not the normal reaction you get, but that's all I could think of, do you remember what shutter speed you had??
 
I have had flickers before, using 1/60th shutter speed with 50Hz powered lights. Like I said though, not really like that, more so just a black line waving through the image up and down, from top to bottom.
