Why I'm glad I bought a 100b from EVS

Because the lens cap came off during shipping, putting little scratches across the lens coating. Tommy at EVS took care of replacement immediately. I was tempted to save some $ and go elsewhere, but the peace of mind of having things For Sure taken care of in situations like this is well worth it imo. It's also nice knowing that people are there that know what they are talking about.

Yeah and Tommy's one of the good guys. He's helped me with equipment on several occasions.

Good for you! I'm more interested in customer service then saving a few dollars. This is just another example of why.
We aren't the cheapest in our market, but we've built our business around customer service. It's worked well for us for 9 years!

Thanks for your understanding and patience when getting your brand-new replacement DVX. I completely understand that an investment of over $3000 should be nothing short of perfect, and if there's one thing that most of us feel on this website... is that the venerable DVX IS PERFECTION.

Besides, how can I not help a friend in New Orleans?

Sincerely,
Tommy Mack

how does a lense cap come off during shipping? isn't the lense cap attached on, making it impossible to open unless its opened by hand?

FilmMakerr,
You'd be suprised what Brown can do for you... (and your package for that matter)....

Wait, that sounded gross, well you know what I mean...

That particular lenscap wasn't Y2K compliant.

I am also just a phone call away from buying my 100B from EVS. I'm just waiting for Rush to answer my email inquiry.

Rush no longer works at EVS. It has been weeks now.

If I were you, I'd save up some more cash and get an HVX200. Totally worth it! Plus, you can still shoot "DVX" style onto MiniDV tape.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I just got the automated email that he no longer works there so sent my inquiry to Randy.

Is EVS still giving discounts for being members of this forum? cuz I am also going to pull the trigger in a few weeks.
