Yesterday I posted a thread about the HVX200. It was a JOKE and 1 of three persons who answered could find some fun in that joke. It was a DARKBLACK joke full of irony and it got deleted by Neil some minutes after I posted it.
WHY did't I recieve a reason? - I asked by private message but didn't get any answer....
How can a thread get deleted without breaking any forum rule?
Or did I break any rule? With a joke? WHICH rule is that?
First of all, Neil closed / locked the thread. That was for me a very good compromiss: people can read the joke - calling me names and it's over. No bad words in the answers and just read it once, then the nightmare is over...
Unfortunately I'm afraid to release the joke again for people who didn't read it, because some could delete this thread either (good-bye freedom of press...). The joke was a long sentence that was turned anastrophically. Anastrophes make jokes or news (often used for commercials) start very positively and end either negatively or with rhetorically hidden elements that want to be undetected. My joke started positively, attracting people and ended with a hypothesis that nobody wanted to hear. It's the kind of joke like: "You won a million! - That's what I'd have told you if you had joined and won our contest..."
I expected this forum to be journalistic - and in journalism self-criticism is very important to stay objective. Lacking self-criticism is very unprofessional and makes words too subjective.
My joke was only self-critic and there was no single bad word and no single lie in it. If the moderators are self-critic and journalistic enough, they should tolerate that kind of jokes. Don't you all tolerate the Simpsons? - Aren't they very self-critic with your country, politics, military and actual/ancient presidents?
Well how can you tolerate that kind of jokes and not tolerate my joke?
If we are not blind, then we all know how journalistic pictures of wars have to look like / be made and how subjective, filtered, faked pictures look like. Journalism is dead without self-criticism. This is an allusion - and some people will understand what I ment by this example - others won't, and I'm sorry for those... My joke was even critizising myself:
Aren't we all sick of waiting for the HVX 200 and recieving the same links, pictures, brochures and infos about that camera again and again and each time, the thread says: "have you seen this new XX yet?" - And many users start making jokes in that kind of threads. My joke was a thread about this itself. And it's not more self-criticism that you can find in all the posts of that kind. But mine got deleted.
Is my joke a taboo in the USA? - Well then I'm sorry about your country and suggest you to forbid the Simpsons too...
If the reason is really that you just can't bear it and close your eyes in front of the mirror - then again I'm very sorry for you. Sometimes it's hard to bear reality, but we have to and at least we can make some jokes about it. Close your eyes if you can't bear it, but don't keep back jokes like mine from other users.
