Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything's connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you're using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QuickTime you are using.

i have never changed a setting in final cut pro, so its all on the preset settings. I clicked log and capture and captured with my 300$ digital camera with whatever settings were automatically set. I added a jpeg and a png image to the timeline, when i clicked render all, the images became blurry and exported the same way.

Gee, thanks for the wealth of information... Which preset are you using? DV? HDV1080i? HDV720p? NTSC? PAL? DV50? DVCPro HD? XDCAM? XDCAM EX? XDCAM HD? XDCAM HD422? Uncompressed? AIC? ProRes/HQ/LT/Proxy/4444? A $300 camera? Wow, that narrows it down.

$20 says your timeline is DV but your images are high res so when you put them in the timeline they get crunched down to DV quality.

But what are the settings?

Saying you've never changed them doesn't indicate what they are.

Telling us that you capture with a $300 digital camera tells us just the price, and nothing more.

We can't see your workflow or equipment, and that makes it impossible to guess at how to solve your issues.

sorry for lack of information. when i make the images/titles in photoshop, i make the project 720x480 and put the image the size of how i will want it compared to that 720x480, then i save it as a png. I import it into final cut pro and drag it to the timeline. the timeline and my settings are 720x480 dv ntsc i believe.

I dont believe it matters what camera im using considering the problem occurs when i just use images and have no camera present.

I realized the footage is messing up when its over footage that has been color corrected or altered. It messes up when i have a fade in/out. and it messes up when i click render all, but if i click the individual image and click render selection, it works (unless its over footage that has been color corrected or altered, then it blurs and gets blocky).

and i dont see anywhere

Make sure in the FCP menu under Sequence--->Render All---> Proxy, Preview, Full & Unlimited is checked. (simply click on these submenu items to activate/deactivate)
Also as a side note in photoshop it doesnt hurt to export your images as double the resolution of your FCP project.
