Why does not Hyperdeck shuttle 2.5 and my af100 play well together

Hi,

I have a problem that when recording to DNxHD.mov through HD-SDI and HDMI my Shuttle drops frames and it looks like this

This is a jpeg sequence:

The one in the middle is the result when dropping a frame.

I record in 1080 25p and its the same at 29,97p

This is my second one (first I did RMA) and I have tried beta 2 and 3.

Heres the kicker... it works flawlessly in uncompressed :O


Is there something wrong with my camera? Because every pro equipment I connect it to gets wired at some point.

SmallHD dp6 does frame repetition every second
H.264 Pro recorder did at one time recorgnize the af100 signal as 1920x1088p
And the hyperdeck shuttle cant do its job in DNxHD

What to do whattodo...
 
same thing on psf and non-psf?

signal coming fro the camera should be standard so maybe the recorder needs to update firmware?
 
If you mean 50i

then this is what i get 8 seconds in to the shot:

I bet the 2.5 Beta is non production ready...
its only in 24p psf is a choice

Can it be the cords fault though it works with uncompressed??
 
I would think it's a problem with the Hyperdeck firmware/codec rather than the device cables, camera or SSD since you state it works fine uncompressed.
 
I have no issue like this with recording 25p compressed, but there is another thing I noticed during the brief test I made, edges on text I shot was in places very odd...spiky like the compression was failing, this could be beta issues.
Fire an email to blackmagic and I will do the same about the issues I have.
 
Im going to try the hyperdeck shuttle 3 software now.

Nothing new,

Uncompressed works
DNxHD.mxf works
DNxHD.mov brakes brakes brakes.... :(

In premiere pro the MXF is the headeache..

Why not contain the audio files with the video is beyond me?

DNxHD.mov is a simple file format to use

News, even the shuttle itself dropps packages when playing back the mov files..

Come to think of it I have never bought anything from blackmagic that actually works 100%

Intensity pro (2007) clogs upp the computer and freezes
h.264 pro recorder (2012) records 1920x1088 pixels
Hyperdeck shuttle (2012) cant record DNxHD.mov, the pictures brakes no matter what source it has.
 
If it didn't work uncompressed I'd say it's the drive speed. I've had dropped frames with my Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 with uncompressed and that's what it was. It must be the 2.5 beta firmware like StephenM said. Did it work with 3.0? What SSD's are you using?

Hi, I'm currently on the v3 software.
I use two Kingston v+100 64gb drives.

And uncomp and dnxhd.mxf works..

When you dropped frames, did you get that interlace dissolve crap frame that I get?
 
No, dropped uncompressed frames show up as duplicate frames (at least when shooting PsF). Is it an issue playing back on the hyperdech itself or just on the computer? If it's the computer maybe you need to update you DNxHD codec.

Its the hyperdeck to, I have seen dropped packages playing back (looks like a string of "war of the ants")

I get this when trying to record with my new shuttle2 over hdmi on af100 and gh2. Anyone have any ideas? Tried dnxhd mov and uncompressed. Corrupt picture and sound on both
