Why do people prefer the BBC scene instead of example DIGNEG or NATURE?

BBC test and conclusion was made before the absolute first firmware upgrade of the HPX300/301 and I find it a bit misleading, so please help me to give me your thoughts.

I do prefer DIGNEG if you look at vimeo, use this self and Nature.
Best regards

I think its because its a good guideline if you intend to produce work which may be shown on UK TV. The gentleman who did the tests is a very respected and technical cameraman, i wouldnt take all the settings as gospel though. Certainly tweak the file to what you need but its a good start.

i must admit that i do use Vivid and Nature myself more now as i do not do any work thats broadcast and i prefer to get most of my look in the camera to save me later on.

I use it as I trust Alan Roberts who wrote the report and he has given me lots of good advice regarding HD cameras.

I have also applied the BBC settings to the cine gamma V high contrast pre set and use them all the time.

i believe it is, its just that the bbc settings are trying to recreate accurate colours in cam.the bbc would then colour later if reqd. I prefer a more punchy look so i like my tweaked vivid file,i always make sure i have the broadcast safe colour option ticked in my editor just in case.
