didnt see anything about this in the manual, but for some reason i cant get to the VFR option in my scene file, which im assuming is variable frame rate. it's greyed out in every scene file in both 720 and 1080. Anyone know why?

You have to choose 1080/24p mode. Or 1080/30p.
You also have to choose FILM CAM instead of VIDEO CAM.
And, you have to have HD-SDI 24PsF set to OFF.

Sorry to highjack the thread, but unable to post new query for some reason. Question: Using the HPX 171, if the frame rate has been changed to give, say, a slow motion look, should the footage play back on the LCD screen at the slow motion rate or will it look "normal"? The reason I ask is that I don't seem able to obtain the so-called undercranking or overcranking effect as descibed in the manual and Barry Green's very good guide. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. Any help would be appreciated. David
