Why are all my P2 files on my laptop locked?

I have two 16gb P2 cards and when I download them on the Mac Powerbook G4 they are fine. But when I am done with the files and want to trash them they are all locked. I have to go into each file and manually unlock them one by one.

Why is this happening? Why can't I just trash them?

The P2 card tab in not on the "protect" mode. Anyone else having this problem?

i am also having this problem on my mac book pro, havent found a quick way to get round it yet, glad you brought it up, i always forget to ask on here.....

hopefully some one will know why and how to stop this happening

Me Too. FAst Fix, you can Select All... do an Apple-I to get info on all the clips at once and it will allow you to UNLOCK them all on that info page. Then you can trash away.

The easyiest way to do this quick is to put the folder containing the lastclp file and contents folder in the trash, not the files themselves. Putting the locked last clip file in the trash will just generate the error message.

But, if you put the folder containing locked items in the trash you will not get the message.

Then simply hold down the option key when emptying the trash from the finder menu, or just press option, command, shift and delete keys at the same time. Boom files deleted.

Just be sure that you trashed the right thing, because there will be no message asking you if you are sure. Once you get that keystroke memorized, you can do massive damage before you know it, or work far more efficiently.
