Re: Whoo, I color corrected

It looks really good. But like neil said, it'd be nice to compare it to the original.

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

My bad, new at this ;D...

Framing is a little different, but you get the general idea...

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

Wow! VERY nice. What are you using to color correct?

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

Just got Vegas 4.0... I'm still going to stick with Premiere 6.0 for editing, but I'm loving the color correcting capabilities of this.
I'm also just playin around till I find something I like, but its producing some awesome results.

Thanks for the comments

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

I think color "correction" is an oftenly misused term. I think "grading" is a more accurate term, in this case anyway.

At any rate, very cool looking grab.

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

From a purely analytical linguistic point of view there is no such thing as a misused word ;)

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

Hey I liked it Drummerboy. Can you tell me what you did in Vegas? I'm new to color correcting too and I couldnt quite do the same thing you did...did you use the 3 color corrector?

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

Hey man,
I really dont know the exact method I used. I just went to visual effects, dragged (drug?) down the 'color correction' filter under visualFX, and changed the three color settings until I got the color orange I wanted.
I also made it a little darker and more contrasted.

drummerboy678@yahoo.com if you have a specific question.

Thats always something that bugs me as well! I tend to prefer the irregular form "drug" but most people look at me strangly. Ain't linguistics great ;) ?

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

I love the coloring...really makes it look and feel more like fall. Very Nice

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

When you change the colors in Vegas (I have Vegas and PP) I think it resamples/recompresses the footage though. Maybe I am wrong. I have started to try to get a lot of my shots "in camera" as apposed to getting them in Editing. I think an interesting test would be to color correct/gradation footage several times and see what effect it has on the clarity of the footage.

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

that last image is awesome. like this it is colourcorrected to other "evening stuff" while the first one (the screaming orange look) was a colourgrading of some sort which was also cool.

but this last blue shot definitely would be used to match other stuff that came out of the cam.

i got edition now which maybe has the most powerful colorcorrector tool of all these "low-end" softwares (PPro, Vegas, Blade, Edition). but it really needs a lot practice to create your look. at least Edition has many cool tools to MATCH a look, but to create a totally new one is a task that needs practice. i am working on it....

Re: Whoo, I color corrected

Maybe it's just me but I feel it's a little presumptuous to take someone else's work and alter it without permission (I'm assuming) and then for the direction of the original post to veer towards that new alteration.
