Who uses Magic Bullet Looks with Avid

I use it with Avid. It can be a very fast tool to add color correction and can add a lot of CC options to your arsenal if you don't already have many plugins from other vendors (like Sapphire or Boris).
Most Magic Bullet looks can be recreated yourself with the built in Avid CC if you have other plugins, but even that might require you spend a lot more time and tweaking. Magic Bullet looks is pretty darn efficient.

What's up Tim! I was actually wondering this same thing last week, so I downloaded the QuickLooks demo and the presets with it are quite nice. The actual Looks suite gives you a lot more control, I think.
I'm sure we could replicate the looks with color correction and the BCC Film Look plugin, but it's so much easier just to pick the look, give it some tweaks, and be done. Especially given the timeframe we have to turn our spots around in.
I'd definitely say download the demo. I assume you got the email from Digital Juice where it's half off right now (I got the email today). I thought about hitting up the boss for it, but you know how that goes. If you end up getting it, drop it on some of your HPX170 footage and send me a still frame. I'd love to see how good it looks.

I'm still on 3.1.1, and I don't think I'm going to update. It looks like 3.1.2 is really only needed for people who use the satellite feature with ProTools8 or something. We don't have ProTools so I'm not going to upgrade. 3.1.1 is running solid for me right now and with Valentines Day around the corner we're about to be swamped. Not worth the risk.
I may try to set up a dual boot with Windows 7 Beta though and install it on that, just to see what happens. I think it will run. Maybe not well, but I bets it runs.

Yeah, we're shooting jewelery tomorrow, pretty much all day, then crank out probably 6 - 10 spots by early next week. If you want to hate the holidays, work retail or advertising!
3.0.5 was a solid release. 3.1.0 was a dog, but 3.1.1 seems to be fine. I get update happy--as soon as it's posted I download it. I should probably stop doing that.

Ah the days of jewelry shooting. I remember doing that with Aaron on Beta from WEHT back in the day. Ha I'm old.
I agree we def. need top get together soon. Wife and baby have been sick this week, I missed Mon and 1/2 tues. taking care of them. Seems like everyone is sick right now ugh
