Joshua: With the H4n, we just didn't have enough prep time with it. There were issues with fiddling with the menus, so I made an executive decision because we need to roll camera...decided to use my JVC HD250.
Matty g: Looked at your reel. Very nice stuff. Looks like you've gotten to use anamorphic lenses. I'm jealous. The lighting package was pretty simple. 2 4-bank 4-foot Kino-Flo's. 2 575w HMI fresnels. A basic Arri fresnel kit. And some Chinese lanterns with practical bulbs on dimmers. Most of the daytime stuff was natural light and a Kino for fill.
Looks great! I gotta get some faster lenses for mine. Every time I see amazing shots like this everybody is using faster lenses. The stock lens is nice but man... this looks great.
Yeah, f4 is a bit hampering. It's OK for wide shots during the day. But for anything else it sure is nice to shoot at f2 or 2.8. Or go nuts on your 50mm and shoot at f1.4!
Wow, Todd, very nice! I started to use the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 recently. Especially for low lights amazing, but hard to focus and a bit soft. But opens a new aera of low light sensitivity!
