There was a thread on this a month or two ago where everyone weighed in regarding insurance. What's most important is that your agent goes to bat for you when the insurance company tries to weasel out of paying, which is their natural inclination when a claim gets up there. Also, go with a local agent who you can harangue face to face when push comes to shove.

So do a search on this forum and DVXuser in general and you'll find your answers.

Where are you located?

In Canada (Ontario specifically) my colleagues use Unionville Insurance (now CG&B
Group). They are very knowledgable about the film/video production world.

EDIT: Ask for Louise Jones, www.cgbgroup.com 905.479.6670 - she's great

I am in NC and use Farm Bureau for all my gear, I just picked up the HPX300 last month and will up my policy accordingly. I had rates of $650 a year which gave me $1m in General Liability and $15000 in coverage. That $15000 will go up a bit with the new gear I purchased so I am guessing my annual will go to about $700-$750. It is replacement insurance.

I have had Nationwide Insurance for years. Totally reliable and honest. Make sure your local agent is on the ball. I used to carry Inland Marine insurance. They no longer require this. They have a great small business plan.

thank s every one for your help, i sent my quote into SMD INC today ,and for the coverage im looking for they want around 300 a year, i believe this is the way ill go, thanks dangerd.
