who is resposible here

My HVX200 was dropped off on my doorstep without a sig and sat there all day until I came home.

On a good UPS note, in the town I used to live in, the UPS guy knew all our cars ( small town of 800 ) if we were in town stopping by the post office before leaving town to go to work, he'd just put our packages in our cars.

wow!! that is scary[/quote]

I had a set of 30 soccer uniforms delivered to my apartment building last year (custom printed - $1500 worth of apparel). UPS left the package inside the front door of the building and never rang the bell or received a signature. By the time I got home from work, the package was gone.

I contacted the company (Eurosport) and UPS and within two weeks had a new set delivered to me. I am pretty sure that UPS picked the entire tab, but I honestly don't even know because the two companies just took care of it all after a few phone calls from me. I never contacted my credit card company, though I was prepared to request a chargeback.

I guess I'm saying there is light at the end of the tunnel, but you will have to stay on top of them and be prepared to wait.

Which means you guys leave your car doors unlocked?

What are you, Canadian?

No, just Iowan's :)
Out it the rural areas most people keep their doors unlocked and their keys in the car.
It's slowly changing though.

When I worked third shift and slept during the day, I saw the UPS guy in town and told him that I ordered a new Mac and if he could drop it off inside my house so I didn't have to get up to get the package. Came downstairs one day and there was my computer box sitting inside the front door.

i hate ups. the last computer i built, they just left the boxes on my porch without even knocking on the door.

lol. I was just about to say same the same thing. Dead of winter...snow on the ground and they left a box with about $1600 bucks of computer parts on a pile of snow. wtf?

Yeah, UPS sucks. We never ship anything with them unless its the customers account. Even still, we have tons of problems, constantly trying to charge us for shipments that are on our customers accounts. Trying to get a package through customs with them is a nightmare, their brokerage fees alone are like 60 bucks to just clear customs. They are terrible to deal with and their customer service is a pain in the ass to deal with.

FedEx is the way to go, there a bit more pricey but there service overall is a lot better. We once shipped about 30 lenses worth about 20K across the country and for some reason after about 4 days they couldn't track where it was at, it ended up being in a sort facility in Sasketchewan or something and it never got scanned in the system, I think they got a little nervous when I told them what it was worth, they called me daily with updates and after the package was delivered a couple of days later they delivered this huge gift basket filled with chocolates, cookies, jam and a bunch of other stuff to my office with an apology letter. Thought that was pretty cool.

Yeah, where I grew up, I used to leave my car unlocked, windows down with the keys in the ingnition all the time.

Is it UPS that recycle tracking numbers? I haven't heard anything good about them.
