Hey

I've got to go to a internet cafe to watch these and I wanted to see some other movies shot all in b&w.

any movies, other than mone, shot all in B&W?

I figured with a rich history of b/w in sci fi their would be alot of them.

"A New Tomorrow" was *shot* in black and white, but we added a full color spectrum using classic technicolor in post. Impressive, no? Time to go and up that SFX score! :D

"Soul Takers" was all B&W, which was interesting because it helped evoke the time period, but may've diluted the effect of the somewhat spectacular scenery. Then again, it was snowy, so maybe not. ;) I haven't seen a lot of B&W 50s space opera Flash Gordon stuff, though.

In "The Man From Hollywood" (now online), we shot a portion in black and white. Turned out pretty well, IMHO.

Z B Brox....Thanks for including mine here and thanks for the comments...good to see others doing B/W .
Haven't seen "The New Tomorrow " yet but will see before I leave ..up at 4:30am ..I hate 12 hr shifts !!!

To Second BrianV's comment, yes we have a portion in Black and White. Our film has a sort of "Twilight Zone" feel, and that scenes was invisioned from the beginning as a Black and White scene.

As an aside, I think that it's funny what happens when you desat the LCD to shoot for Black and White... certain colors still pop through! We were shooting in this bar, and there was a bright orange Jaggermeister banner in the background... the thing was in full color on my LCD. I cracked up. The ol' 'Meister cannot be kept down by Black and White.

I couldn't sleep that night, it was so freaky. :)

B&w

B&w

Forgive my ignorance (I am new to the DVX) how do you get the DVX to shoot B&W? Do you simply bring the chroma down?

Arileman--

If you had a look at A New Tomorrow you know this by now, but I was just making a very bad joke. Sorry for any confusion. ;)

I almost shot our flashbacks in black and white, but felt it would take the viewer out of the story, so we didn't end up doing that.
