I'm a carpenter during the day. At night I try to run a very small video production company that is now migrating to a motion picture company, thanks to the good ole' DVW.

I am a senior switch tech for Sprint PCS by day. I am also desparate to find a creative path that leads to prosperity and doesn't put my brain on ice (Unix is not really FUN). So I'm also a minister and media dept leader at my rockin' Pentecostal church (maybe no prosperity now, but later..... ;D) Which leads to why I am now really diggin' the whole film-making scene, to produce dramatic shorts and inspirationals for my church in an effort to keep church relevant and alive.

You guys who do this for a living are an inspiration to me. I never really thought about the people who make films and creative stuff. I've always loved it and had a thing for graphic design, etc. But it never even occured to me to try it as a career/passion path until 1 wife and 1 1/2 kids later (still with both wife and kids). Really the creativity of people like Kai and Shai (two of my creative heroes here) inspires me to be, to imagine and finally thanks to the DVX, to tell...

got a BA at cal state northridge in television production...worked at an ad agency as an audio visual coordinator...now a freelance fcp editor and a fulltime+overtime dad of 3! and i'm younger than hudson!? ;) ;D film, family, final cut, freelance, freedom, fun...can life get any better than this? :D

Hey Kai,

Yeah, video is my 'day job' and I've been doing it since 1987.

I worked as a camera operator at KWTV (the station I'm proposing we shoot at) for 5 years.

Then I went to work for a small production company for 4 years doing still photography and video and some motion film spots. We did everything from 35mm stills to Medium Format to 4x5 and 8x10 view cameras to video to 16mm and 35 mm motion film shoots.

There is nothing as nice as a nicely exposed 8x10" transparency laying on a light box looking at it through a magnification loupe. ;)

I then went to work for a larger production company for 5 years as their very first in-house videographer. Did TONS of corporate and commercial stuff there.

For the last 3.5 years I've been on my own. Took out a loan. Bought some gear and haven't looked back.
