Who Among Us Brews Beer?

I don't but a close friend does. I get to taste test.... and test....and test...
Did I mention this is a really GOOD friend!

I brew my own wine. Can honestly say the kits you get these days are brilliant.
What kits do you prefer?

I haven't brewed in a year or so but at one time I brewed every weekend. Full grain mash and all. I had a nice two tower tapper that held 4 regular kegs or 20 of my cornelius canisters. The great thing about brewing from scratch (as opposed to kit or malt syrup brewing) is that you have total control over each step of the process. It takes a little more equipment and usually takes 8 hours to brew and do all the sterilizing and cleanup but it is well worth it.

Blaine, where did you purchase your equipment? Can you provide a link to some of the big equipment you had?

I have always wanted to try it. Maybe one day i'll give it a go.
Here's a supply place in your state: BeerNut.

Terry-

If you have the patience, I highly recommend giving it a try. You'll have to devote a better part of a day in the brewing process. And you must make sure everything is sterile. But, you can yield some amazing results. My friend brews her own beer about 4-5 times a year and its always incredibly fresh and delicious. Now if I could just get her to quit experimenting with flavors and stick with that amazing Apricot beer she made last summer...the world would be a much better place...

Rick

Thanks for the encouragement, Rick. I know I will have fun and learn more about beer just by stepping through the process.

My first attempt at brewing might happen tomorrow based on a friend's availability. If so, we will brew a Weizen beer.

The perfect summer brew. A wise choice.

My Aunt once left one of those plastic iced tea dispensers outside for a whole summer and poured a glass only to realize it had fermented and became spiked. I have made my own root beer before, never tried for the golden stuff though
