What kits do you prefer?steadicamsteel said:I brew my own wine. Can honestly say the kits you get these days are brilliant.

The great thing about brewing from scratch (as opposed to kit or malt syrup brewing) is that you have total control over each step of the process. It takes a little more equipment and usually takes 8 hours to brew and do all the sterilizing and cleanup but it is well worth it.

If you have the patience, I highly recommend giving it a try. You'll have to devote a better part of a day in the brewing process. And you must make sure everything is sterile. But, you can yield some amazing results. My friend brews her own beer about 4-5 times a year and its always incredibly fresh and delicious. Now if I could just get her to quit experimenting with flavors and stick with that amazing Apricot beer she made last summer...the world would be a much better place...
