White Lines Letterbox 100a

Weird...I called Panasonic who wants me to take my camera to a dealer..listen to this...

So I turn on my camera one day (dvx100a) and I notice that when I am in camera mode with the letterbox on I get these thin white lines on the top of the bottom letterbox mask and the bottom of the top mask.

However, when you record this footage and play it back..the lines are not there.

The lines are very thin. On the LCD it is about 1 pixel high all the way across the screen.

Anyone have any idea whats going on?

I will post a pic of the LCD open with the lines there so you can see... ??? ??? ???

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

I got those lines when I was editing a project in FCP. I recently found out that it was from me accidently adding a marker. I covered the white lines with a letterbox. I do not know why your seeing those lines in your camera though.

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

Yeah I know that happens when you add a marker...but its in the cam..its kinda like WTF?!

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

Any chance its the function that shows the 'outlines'? Whats it called? Just thinking out loud here.

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

"Peaking", or "EVF DTL". It sure doesn't sound like that's what would be happening, but I guess it's as good a guess as any... try turning EVF DTL off and see if the lines go away.

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

Can't find EVF DTL and unfortunately it is still happening I need to post a pic for you guys just so you can see it. Thanks for the ideas though..

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

EVF DTL is only on the 100A, and it's the button on the back of the camera right above the scene file dial.

>:( Hey! Just cause I forgot it was called EVF Detail doesnt mean I didnt know! :D

Sorry. Shameless credit. ::)

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a

My suggestion but ironically goes back to the technical knowledge of Barry!  :D

Bill: I'm an idea man Chuck, I get ideas, sometimes I get so many ideas that I can't even fight them off!

------------------------------------------------------------

Bill: Wait a minute! Why don't they just mix the mayonnaise with the tuna in the can... HOLD THE PHONE! Why don't they just FEED the tuna fish mayonnaise!
[speaks into tape recorder]
Bill: Call Starkist!

Re: White Lines Letterbox 100a
