White Balance

When you simply cannot do a white balance, is there any way you can save the auto-white-balance setting when you switch back to manual? That is, in certain shooting conditions, if I cannot white balance (and if I don't want to use one of the pre-sets on the switch), is there any way I can switch to Auto (which then does an automatic white balance) and then go back to Manual with that white balance setting saved? Because I'd still want control over focus and iris, but would want that automatic white balance setting.

Yes, you can assign "ATW LOCK" to one of your user buttons and that will lock the current white balance.

Also, you can assign ATW to be used even in manual mode; use the SW MODE menu and you can assign one of the white balance switch positions (either PRST, A, or B) to go into ATW mode. Then use the user button to lock it when you get what you like.
