This is probably the dumbest post yet, but whatever. I have been having trouble with white balancing the camera. I zoom in on my white card and lower the WB switch, but nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do?
Set the White Balance switch on the side of the camera to either the A or B position (you can store two custom white balances), then press and hold the WB button on the front of the camera. I recommend letting the camera do a black balance as well, which happens automatically after the white balance if you continue to hold down the WB button.
1. Lock camera down on sticks or whatever.
2. REMOVE the hood or Matt box.
3. Set a grey or white card at the point of focus (where talent is)
4. Frame balance card in LCD or viewer.
5. get critical focus.
6. press and hold the WB button until abb shows as finished.
I know all this seems very elementary but after sending a pilot to a finisher in L.A. I was given these tips because we were consistently coming up with a hue across all cameras. As it turned out our problem was that we never removed the hoods off the cameras and the Matt box off of the A cam.
