White Balance under changing light conditions

Hi, I have to shoot an open air concert in a couple of weeks.
The concert starts at the end of the afternoon and will last well into the evening. Because of the length of the concert I will use a laptop to capture the footage. So far, so good.

But I am worried about the white balance under the changing light conditions.
Another complicating factor is that at some point of time stage lights will be swithced on.
Obviously I cannot fiddle with the white balance setting during the shoot and I am also reluctant to use the AWB of my DVX100, which I do not trust to deliver a consistent enough performance.

Anybody experienced similar circumstances and has useful suggestions is welcomed to share them here.

I shoot alot of surf footage with the dvx and deal with constantly changing lighting conditions while constantly filming which leaves me no time to re-adjust the white balance. I stuck with the preset 5.6k and that worked fine, the only footage i have that looks like sh*t was shot when I actually attempted to manual white balance. I might add that the early morning light didn't turn out so well with the preset, but this was at first light so you're looking at an hour or so when u'll have to make a few adjustments. Let me know how it turns out, i'd like to hear what others do in similar circumstances.

Aside from using the ATW function, I think the only other option is to find a white balance point that is going to fit as much of the shoot as possible. One of the presets could possibly work for that, or maybe you could try and set it somewhere inbetween.

I'd probably start off shooting with the daylight preset, then when they turn the stage lights on, quick switch to the tungsten preset.
