White Balance Preset and Memory A/B look different at same temperature

I can't seem to figure out why the same color temperature looks different between White Balance Preset and Memory A/B. When I set the White Balance to Memory A or B and get a reading of a certain white balance temp, for example 4300k, and I switch over to manual Preset and set it to 4300k, the color temp/hue looks different. I can't find any function that controls the color temp in Memory A/B. This is mostly under various lighting conditions and not just natural sunlight.

I think when you perform a WB on a white card the camera also changes settings you find in the PP under "WB Shift".
So when you dial in a manual WB you have to find your favourite WB Shift setting manually.
