White-Balance Operation

Do you guys set your white balance using a white object and then color correct in post, or do you skew the white balance setting on set and adjust as needed in post?

I created a thread on still photography here, and this seemed like my next logical post.

Is there a set of white-balance cards that will give me cool looking hues of green, blue, amber, etc.? Cards that also translate to digital photography?

I use a Lastolite collapsible WB target, white on one side and 18% gray on the other. That gives me accurate, neutral colors that I can modify with a scene file or tweak in post.
