White Balance on two cameras

I have two DVX 100a, first I've bought from B@H on the end of December 2003, and second i bought in October 2004 from the same source. I am trying to get both cameras in the same color range, but the newer one is significantly more rich in color. I have done white balance settings with the same conditions and still have the same disbalance.

Any idea how to put them in same color range,

Thanks, Rad ::)

Re: White Balance on two cameras

Are you sure they are both 100a's. If the first one is a 100 I believe the chip set is slightly different. Go through all your settigns and make sure they are all the same. Second when you do the white balance try to have the cameras side by side, and at the same height. Do one than the other making sure that the white card is at the same angle in relation to the ambient light.
I have not used a 100 with a 100a, I am not sure if there are any insider balancing tricks out there. But if there is I am sure someone here knows them.

Is there a difference in picture quality between a 100 and a 100A? I thought that they had the same pic quality, just more settings in the 100A.

Re: White Balance on two cameras

the 100a has a new prism for more realistic color reproduction so this might be why you're color aren't the same. Play with setting i'm sure you can get both images very similar.

In my experience with the 100 and 100A, they do not deliver the same color picture (even at the same settings) when used in the white-balance-preset modes. If you do a manual white balance you can get them to match quite nicely, but in preset mode they don't quite match.

Thanks for all of you, cameras are the same, both 100A, i will play with settings to achieve closest color range on them.
