White Balance from Barry's Book

Under the "White Bal Switch" section of Barry's book it states: "The presets are selected by setting the WHITE BAL switch to PRST, and the toggled by pressing the AWB button on the front of the camera." Does "toggled" mean switching back and forth? And if you go in and out of indoor and outdoor light, do you have to "toggle"/push the AWB button again and again as you go in and out of indoor and outdoor light to get the right Kelvin setting, or does the camera do it for you automatically as long as your are in the PRST mode?

I will assume your camera is in fully manual mode and not set for any Auto Tracking White modes.

If the silver switch is set for PRST mode, you can toggle manually between 3200K and 5600K. Nothing will change automatically. If you walk inside from outside (or vice versa), you will have to press the AWB button under the lens to toggle between the two color temperatures.

If you want the white balance to automatically adjust, you can do that by either assigning "ATW" to one of your user buttons, or assigning "ATW" to one of the positions on the white balance switch. Choosing "ATW" makes the white balance system automatically adjust.

Yes. The camera is in manual. Strange. I tried toggling back and forth with the AWB button (indoors, flourescent light) and notice no difference in white balance.
