Hi all,

I'm going to buy a wide angle lens for my DVX100. But i'm searching around and yet to decide which lens should i invest to. I really need your help.

1) Mustn't vignette
2) should I go for 0.4X or 0.5X or 0.6 or 0.7?
3) I saw the video below and the wide angle is fantastic. If i want to have that kind of effect? what lens should i choose?

Pentagon,

Note that the sample video is 16x9 format. So is it wide angle you want or 16x9? The dvx is basically a 4x3 cam though you can shoot squeeze or letterbox to get 16x9. That topic has been discussed to nausea here so I'll let you do your own search; you will find plenty.

The other way to get 16x9 from the dvx is to add on the anamorphic lens adapter.

Both methods have their advantages and issues. Once again, do a search. Barry Greens DVX book will also help you plenty on this.

With regard to W/A adapters, the wider you go, the more weird it will get, so if you want to avoid trouble, go conservative like .7x.

Regards,
Grant
