Which tripod adapter is best? Preferably one that is attached to a rod support system. I have 2 rods and a Chroziel Mattebox I would like to eventually mount to the camera, and a follow focus

Thanks!

I wish there was a way to still use my old quick release plate that I was using for the HPX500 is there a baseplate system that offers that as well?

Bit hard to know exactly what you are after here!

"tripod adapter" does not mean much in context of your post ...and tripods usually means a device for a stills camera (to me anyway) and then you went on to mention quick release, baseplate system and "attached to a rod support system".

Very confusing post.

SOunds like you're looking for a base for your rods, onto which you will put your tripod plate. There are loadds on the market. personally I use the Shoot 35 baseplate, but everyone makes them. There's a really good resource here

My thoughts on a base plate setup for the AF100... When evaluating camera accessories, I always try to purchase goodies which will function with any future camera I may purchase. I am also a little frugal, so I tend to shop for good deals on quality used gear when I can to save a buck. That being said, I mount my AF100 to a used Zacuto base plate which I purchased from ebay. I then mount my matte box and follow focus via 15mm rails. When I use very large lenses like my Cooke 20-100, I mount a used Allstar Arri style dovetail base plate which I purchased from reduser, below the Zacuto base plate, and add 19mm rails.
