Which Presentation Software for HD Videos and Stills

I've Memories On TV and Picasa 3.6 which I use to create a presentation Slide Show for both still pictures and video clips.
Unfortunately, both have some limitations, especially the video (720p m2ts) is played rather jerky.
I'm looking for a software which could play m2ts files in a smooth manner and combine JPEGs with transition effects and music into one video clip for burning into DVD.
Anybody knows and can suggest in this case.

I'm downloading trial version of both programs and will check how m2ts files at both resolutions (1080 and 720p) will run on them.
Midtime I've downloaded the ProShow Producer 4.1 which is very versatile but have some problem with m2ts at 1920x1080 recorded by Sony HD camcorder.
Files created in GH1 at both resolutions working OK.

Sony Vegas does what you want and does it quite well. It also comes with a program called DVD Architect that lets you make your own DVD's. I use the $85 Vegas Move Studio version which is fine for amateurs. The $600 Pro version is more for making real (commercial quality) movies.

After testind all programs, I find the ProShow Producer 4.1 to be the best software for creating hd video (m2ts files) and JPEGs slide show. Then you can export the project into HD DVD,Blu-Ray and various other options.
