Hi,

i want to make some video in sunny daylight with my GH-1 an stock lenses, also at the beach. Without filter i end up with f/20 and 1/100-1/200 which is to much i think.

Which filter do you suggest for that purpose, nd4 or nd8 ?

Thank you very much.

Both, trust me, you'll need them. In order to get a f/2.8 with 1/50 s shutter at 100 ISO in daylight I've stacked two ND8s on my GH1.

at the beach this weekend i tested one of those chinese ebay ND16 to reach f2.8 @ 1/50th and still had some room with the aggressive reflected sunlight.
adds a slight magenta shift but easily corrected with proper color balance.

Don't skimp on NDs. Get Hoyas or Tiffens, pay for them.

And get three. Don't forget your Polarizer, either.

What about vignetting Martti? Has anyone experienced vignetting using 62mm ND's on the stock lens?

At first I used Cokin P series holder and their plastic filters. Now I got Formatt ND glass filters in my matte box. Haven't seen a inkling of vignetting with either. Screw-on filters are too slow to switch around for me.
