FS7: Which Metabones speedbooster for Nikon lenses ?

Hi,

I don't find the subject in an another thread, sorry if it was already treated.

I would like to know which Metabones speedbooster I have to buy with the FS7 if I want to use my Nikon lenses ? What are differences between the 2 Metabones Speedbooster for Nikon lenses ?

There is the Nikon G to E-mount SB and the Nikon G to E-Mount SB ULTRA, but it seems that the "ULTRA" does NOT support electronic aperture control (I have read it on the CVP website).

I own a 35 mm F:2D and a 50 mm F:1.4D with manual aperture and also a 70-200 f:2.8 with automatic aperture.

Is there one Metabones speedbooster that can control automatic aperture with the FS7 ? Could I use the 70-200 with the FS7 ?

Thanks for your reply

I use Nikon lenses on my FS7 and use the Metabones Ultra adaptor.

As far as I know there isn't a Metabones adapter (or any other adapter for that matter) that can electronically control the aperture of Nikon lenses. For 'G' lenses, the Metabones adapters have a manual aperture ring.

Hi epicdream and thank you.

So, Nikon's zooms work well with the FS7 ? How does it work if the aperture is on the Metabones adapters ? What about the depth of field if it's not supported by the lens ? I don't understand how it really works !

Which lenses do you have and are you satisfied with them?

You physically change the aperture with a ring on the Metabones. I have the 17-35mm and 80-200mm f2.8 Nikkor lenses and a selection of Zeiss ZF.2 primes. They all work beautifully on the Metabones Ultra.

maybe if we all chant "Nikon, Nikon Nikon" into a mirror, Jacek will make a powered optitek adapter appear.
