Which M2 bundle is best for the HVX?

I've looked through the redrockmicro site, and I can't work out what I need. I couldn't find any page that made it easy, i.e. "Own an HXV200? Click here to view our recommended packages."

To those of you that have a M2 adapter: could you advise me what package and extras I would need for use with the HVX? I intend to film in both SD and HD, with Nikon lenses.

I would also be interested to know which method/equipment you use to flip the image during filming? I have heard that using a magnet would be the cheapest method... but to me it sounds like that would damage the cam.

When you purchase the m2 for the HVX200, you will need at least two things:

1) Shim Kit. This is to shim up your camera so that it is even with the glass.

2) 82 --> 72mm step down ring. The diameter of the HVX lens is wider, so the step down ring makes it so you can attach the achromat.

Both of those things can be found on the redrockmicro site.

Since you plan on using Nikon lenses, then of course you would get the Nikon mount.

As far as anything else is concerned, getting a follow focus is nice.
I got the one from Redrock, but I've heard it's not that well made and that there are better options out there.

Hope that helps!

you want to start with this:

HD Bundle
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.152/.f?sc=2&category=9

And youll need these...

Step down ring:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.191/.f?sc=2&category=4

Shim Kit:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.92/.f?sc=2&category=4

That would be all you need from RedRockMicro.com to be ready for the M2.

Do you have a Rail support system? If you do have that already, then you dont need the HD bundle, you would just need to get these:

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A RAIL SUPPORT SYSTEM:

M2 Adapter:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.115/.f?sc=2&category=7

Nikon Mount:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.163/.f?sc=2&category=2

Step down ring:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.191/.f?sc=2&category=4

Shim Kit:
http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.472981/it.A/id.92/.f?sc=2&category=4
(this depends on the rail system maybe?)

If you dont have a rail system, i highly recommend the RedRock Micro rail system, its pretty darned good.

As far as a follow focus and mattebox, i recommend the www.hysonfilms.com setup, contact joel there for your specific needs and lenses. If you have 1200-1300 for a mattebox and another 1200 for a follow focus, then cavision maybe your way to go. Otherwise i recommend Hysonfilms.com

To flip the image, you can use the paperclip hack. It works fine for me in the meantime while i test some footage out before i get a marshall monitor.
