Which lenses I recommend for video

Thank you Phillip!. Yeah, I am on a budget so I have been picking up vintage pre-AI Nikkor lenses, and I love them. I have the 24mm F2.8, the 35mm F2.8, a 50mm F2, a 50mm F1.4, and a 200mm Q F3.5 (least fav). I also have a Nikon E series 100mm f2.8. I am looking to get a pre-AI 20mm F2.8 and a pre-AI 85mm F1.8 to round out the package. I know a lot of folks say that the AI lenses have better coatings and handle flare better, but I have not found that to be an issue with these lenses. For the image to $$$ ratio, the Nikkor lenses are a great way to go. Thanks again.

Saw this posting yesterday, and thought it was quite good. I am hoping to update my cinematography thread today with some lensing info and will be sure to link to that thread.

awesome write-up! Ever used leica R lenses? i'd like to see those compared with the zeiss. i've heard the Leicas have better breathing characteristics, but i haven't used either.

i was thinking about picking up a new 50 since i dropped my nifty-fifty, and it can't really stand up to much abuse. i'm broke, so i think the zeiss 50mm 1.7 c/y is the way for me to go.
