GH5 Which lens hood for SLR Magic Reflex Mark II ND filter?

Hi, I bought the SLR Magic’s 62mm Vari-NDs filter for my GH5. I'm a lot satisfied with it and I'd like to protect it with a lens hood. In fact, the front lens is very protruding and in my travels in the forest I will certainly go to spoil it. Can anyone suggest what leans hood I can buy? Thank you for your suggestions.

Don’t see any info about that filter on the web, but if it’s like other SLR Magic’s 62mm Vari-NDs then it has 72mm front threads. If the filter came with a lens cap look at the underside to see if the size is labeled.

You’ll need a wide-angle screw-in hood for use with your 12-60mm & there are several choices available, though I’d likely go with a rubber version. Avoid the 3-in-1 type as they’re just a PIA.

Sorry for my typing error. Yes you are right it is SLR Magic’s 62mm Vari-ND filter. Yes, the filter came with a lens cap and at the underside I read 72mm. Could you suggest a precise rubber version of leans hood please? You know there is a short staff on the filter to rotate it.

Generally I prefer rubber screw-in hoods because they’re easier to transport, but the metal B+W versions are quite nice & I own one, or two. For your particular use they might be the way to go.

Rubber hoods fit in my bag easily because they flex. They're also better for shooting through a window or glass display case, because you can put the hood flush against the glass yet still angle the camera due to the rubber flexing.

Yes, I understand but my biggest worry is the vignetting with the lens hood because I use the wide angle lens a lot. I hope someone who uses the same lens Leica 12-60mm can give me an advice.

I have the Leica 12-60, great little lens. The best way to avoid vignetting at 12mm is to get a 77/80mm step up matte box ring, they are much HP eternal built, and can take a 80mm clamp on box, like the Wooden Camera zip boxes. That said I have used a rubber 77mm shade, which can be adjusted quickly, a metal matte box step up ring, which works, and you can get a 72mm Conical Step-up Ring with 85mm Outside Diameter from Cavision AR series. But my favorite is the Cavision LH-80, a rubber lens hood used (looks like a little matte box, with the 77/80 ring, it works great, no vignetting and offers nice lens front protection.
Cheers

Do you mean like it? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...xNSijbi-Dw4eCpCE-vsVo60bbObRW3pxoCOdQQAvD_BwE
I think I can't use it because my ND variable filter is this one: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01BBZZK20/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But did you ever make a try if could give vignetting with a lens hood like this one on the filter? https://www.amazon.it/grandangolare...1859965&sr=1-6&keywords=paraluce+metallo+72mm
Or is it better I buy a separate ring and then I apply a bigger lens hood.

That should work, looks close to my Matre box step up ring I use.
the WC Zip box is nice, but good only good when using 4x4 filters. I have this one also, but use it on my larger Cine 11-16 Zoom.
