Filmed this short scene on location at the dragraces. Had Hall of Fame hotrod legend Gene Winfield do a cameo part in which he tells a story on how he raced Johnny Callaway (fictional character from my movie) back in the fifties. This was shot on location (very NOISY location if I may add LOL) with a skeleton crew of 2 and the DVX100B + Senn 416 shotgun mic on a boom.
Premises: Our hotrod girl is looking for information on Johnny Callaway, who built her roadster back in the fifties. She hears that Gene knew him back then so she goes to talk to him while he is at his booth at an NHRA dragrace / car show event.
I came home with just enough footage to create the scene. It took a lot of patching up though because the dragsters were taking off every minute and the noise was then so loud we had to stop. Now have two versions, would like for you guys to tell me which of the two seems more convincing performance wise (not editing wise please). So please watch both, look at his performance (more fast paced and over the top on first version, more laid back and conversational in the second) and let me know which feels more like a movie scene. Note that the very beginning and ending is the same on both versions but will not be used in the actual film.
